A fresh start with house plants
A new year, full of fresh courage and good intentions. You may still have your Christmas tree in place to hold on to the warm holidays, but it is likely that it will be gone quickly. Perhaps you have new interior plans for 2020, because you are really tired of that worn-out couch or that junk corner. Maybe you can now finally make that custom made closet or paint your worn-out side table that you don’t want to say goodbye to. A fresh start in the new year, especially in your interior, because a new environment can give lots of inspiration to do things differently, or simply to feel better. Also, a house filled with houseplants has an even more positive effect on people. Allow yourself a fresh start of 2020 with green house plants in your interior!
We at Eden Collection were able to make someone happy already with a house full of plants. At the Vesta green event last October, visitor Thica won a plant styling with Eden Collection house plants. Thica already had some plants in her student room and she was excited to get some more! In this blog we show you the result of the plant styling and we can read about the influence of plants on Thica and the living pleasure she has in her student house in Groningen.
Plants in your student house
Thica has a room in a student house, so she was a little hesitant that her (small) room was going to be full of plants, but the Eden Collection plants have been given a nice place! We have found creative ways to place or hang plants. We taught Thica how you can easily make plant hangers yourself – and more important: budget friendly – with just a piece of rope. We also shared this DIY on our Pinterest board. With screw hooks you can easily hang plants in your room without having to drill holes, ideal for plaster walls. You can also hang plants on nice racks or in the ceiling. Thica already had a number of houseplants at home, but these tips and tricks made her room even greener!
The effect of house plants in your home
On the photos you can already see what plants do for a room, “plants give such a nice atmosphere and coziness” Thica says. In addition to the added value for the atmosphere, did you know that plants are also good for the acoustics in your house? This of course contributes to a nice and cozy feeling! We asked Thica if she also noticed a difference in how she felt in her room before she had plants and how she feels now – with plants – in her room. After a moment of thought, she replied: “Yes, I really think so. Plants give a certain amount of peace and quiet, I am now in my room much more often than before. It is much nicer to be here now that I have plants.” Lovely to see what plants do!
A fresh start with house plants
Greening your room, house, bedroom, bathroom or kitchen provides fresh inspiration for the new year. Thica says it nicely: “I think it has become so cozy and beautiful, I want to be here all the time now!”, That’s not surprising, because house plants are good for you! Thica also gives a good tip to make the world a little greener and to let more people enjoy house plants in their house: give cuttings to friends. This is how her love of plants originated, she was inspired with green by a friend. Plus, this way of bringing more green into the world is of course student-budget proof!
The slogan of Eden Collection is “Discover the world, bring Eden Collection into your home”, our mission is to bring as many houseplants as possible to people’s homes for more well-being and living pleasure. This year we want to show Eden Collection at people’s homes, so Thica, thanks for your hospitality! Stay tuned for more green lifestyle inspiration!
We wish you all a fresh start of 2020!
