The Rhipsalis burchelli is an epiphytic cactus which means that it naturally grows on other plants or trees. The plant has a particular form of leaves and colour because of the many dark green and brown coloured stalks that grow from the pot. Place this plant in a well-lit spot, but avoid direct sunlight. This plant only needs little water.
This plant is originally from Brazil.
The genus Rhipsalis, also called band cactus called, includes about sixty different varieties. Originally, the Rhipsalis comes from South and Central America and Florida. Not all indigenous Rhipsalis varieties are equally suitable as indoor plant, therefore, a few varieties have been selected for the Eden Collection on the basis of life-span. These have been given the name ‘Rock coral’.
